FIGHT AGAINST HIV / AIDS: «LES CENTRES D’ACCUEIL DE L’ESPOIR » AT THE HEAD OF THE ESSAZOK POPULATIONS

Essazok, located in the suburbs of Yaoundé, Cameroon’s political capital, hosted the fifth free health campaign organized by the NGO “Centers of Reception of Hope” (CAES).

On Thursday, September 20, 2018, the crossroads of Essazok locality was the epicenter of the health campaign organized by the CAES. This activity as usual was intended to enable the populations of the said locality to be tested voluntarily for HIV. It had the particularity of the presence of Mrs. Martine REGENWETTER, representative of the Sharing Foundation LU, association Luxembourgish partner of the CAES who wanted to touch the finger and measure the importance of this activity among the populations.

To carry out this health campaign, the CAES have been able to count on the Cameroonian government, particularly the Ministry of Public Health through the Regional Technical Group of the National AIDS Control Committee (CNLS) which has at their disposal a mobile HIV testing unit. In doing so, more than two hundred (200) people have been screened and know their status to date.

Mrs Martine REGENWETTER, who attended the event, wished to welcome once again this other innovation of Education / Awareness in particular and the CAES in general.
